TechRanch is a leading business development assistance organization focused on the high tech sectors.  By offering programs and events for each type of company, we are able to both speed the development of tech start-ups and minimize their cash burn.  However, our advising expertise goes beyond looking at a company as simply a business entity.  We are vigilant in our mission to assure founders do not get in over their heads, and we pride ourselves on often providing a view of the forest to someone working in the trees. 

At TechRanch, our purpose is to help entrepreneurs pursuing ventures in the high technology markets in growing their businesses faster, more efficiently and with less investment capital than they could otherwise. TechRanch has developed expertise in bootstrapping, recruiting talent in rural markets, raising capital outside of the major geographic areas of finance, and developing near term strategic plans aimed at getting a company to cash flow positive as soon as possible. We have learned where companies need to proceed slowly and methodically and where they can run fast.

TechRanch was founded in 2000 by a group of Montana business leaders, and since that time has served over 60 start-up companies throughout Montana. With the support of federal funding, TechRanch hired its first Executive Director, John O'Donnell, in the fall of its first year. Business development programs were put in place and the organization began to have an immediate impact on the success of Montana based technology start-ups. Within a few years of founding, TechRanch was recognized in such publications as the Wall Street Journal, Forbes and leading regional newspapers such as the Denver Post.

At TechRanch, it is our Mission to assist entrepreneurs in growing sustainable companies in Montana that will employ people in clean technology jobs.  Our Goal is to decrease Montana's out-migration by providing meaningful, high paying jobs, thus increasing the State's tax base.  Our Value Proposition is to provide entrepreneurs access to capital, business development advising, educational events and infrastructure necessary for success.
